Yellow Mongoose

Yellow Mongoose

What do you do when you are scared?  Well, Sam, when you were little, like a teeny little 2 year old, you would pull on your ear lobes, look around wildly, and say,”I just not. . . . I just. . .  NOT.” It was very cute. I guess there are different types of scared. Like there is the scared when you are watching a scary movie, which is more. . .  silence-silence-silence-silence-silence-silence-silence-silence-silence GOTCHA!!! Or the scared when you get a test back from your teacher that you know you did poorly on. Seeing a ‘D’ or an ‘F’ and knowing you have some explaining to do to your parents.

There are a lot of scary things that, as a kid, you haven’t experienced. And I hope you never do. But I’ve seen some things and been in situations where I was thinking,”NOPE. I SHOULD NOT BE HERE.” For instance, walking around a bad part of town in the middle of the night. Or being in the house alone and smelling something burning and then seeing smoke coming out of a light switch in the middle of the night.

I generally deal with fear by walking through it, and–when I’m safe–I have a panic attack. It’s worked ok so far. I mean, I’m still alive. The Yellow Mongoose, when threatened or feels fear, will growl and secrete a foul, milky fluid from glands in its butt.

That is all.
