Tri-colored herons are cool to watch. They stand on long legs (or leg) patiently waiting for something delicious to move by (like a small fish) and they STAB at it with their beaks. Sometimes, they will run after prey and then BEAK-STAB.
Speaking of beaks and stabbing, the Tri-colored heron’s bill turns blue during breeding season.
